Dawson Wins Irving 7-on-7 Tournament

The Dawson Middle School eighth grade Green team won the Prime Time Sports 7-on-7 tournament on May 31, going 4-0 in the competition.

Dawson defeated teams from Highland Park, Creekview and Hebron along the way.

Team members include Matt Swoyer, Kyle Metzger, Zach Thomason, Corey Kemp, Will Burgess, Sabian Gillespie, Tyler Barnes, Ben Sego, Dillon Rake, Will Davis, Drew Ahmuty, Austin Tyrone, David Stroope and Nick Melocik. The team is coached by Rob Ahmuty.

Southlake Pair Win Sand Volleyball Tournament

Kinsey Cahill and Emily Harris of Southlake recently competed in the North Texas 12U USA Beach Junior regional sand volleyball tournament, where they won first place.

With the tournament victory, Cahill and Harris qualified for the USA Beach Junior Open Championship, which will be held on July 19 in Manhattan Beach, CA.

Alliance Rugby Club to Hold Clinic in Keller

The Alliance Rugby Club will have a clinic 10 a.m.-4 p.m. on June 21 at the Keller Sports Park at 299 Sports Parkway in Keller.

According to a news release, the club will put on a "demonstration of the game by members of our highly ranked team."

The clinic is open to people ages 8 and up and food and drinks will be available.

Nadadores Place Fifth at Keller Meet

The North Texas Nadadores competed in the Spring Meet from May 9-11 hosted by the Lakeside Aquatic Club at the Keller ISD Pool and finished in fifth place overall.

The following swimmers contributed points to the Nadadores cause:

Katie Nedrow, Jaycie Adamson, Katie Howrey, Bridget Pacilio, Elizabeth Nedrow, Amanda Bumagny, Laura Norman, Veronica Hadley, Caitlin Brammer, Jenny Chang, Katey Norman, Daniel Rutledge, Alex Moraru, Kyle McCall, Harrison Koh, Michael Everett, Brandon Everett and Dan Hottois.

Most of the Nadadores swimmers are from Southlake, Colleyville and Grapevine.
