Dear Editor:

Regarding the May 9 letter to the editor who claims he and the Southlake Journal were accused of benefiting from pornography, well touché!! Now I am a single minded zealot!

No worries. I really do have the best intentions as I feel your concerns about free speech were created because of misconceptions in the article, "Council eyes web filter plan." While the multi-billion dollar porn industry would certainly challenge CP80, that alone doesn’t mean they would prevail.

The CP80 plan enables me to eliminate pornographer’s intrusive tactics from my home computer, while allowing anyone else who wants to view it (outside my home) to do just that. That simple fact is what makes CP80 so unique and so sensible. It’s also what makes it constitutionally sound.

None of us actually WANTS pornography available to our kids – and this permits a family to have control. Let's move on and see if we can all work together to make it work. Let's work out the logistics. Together. You can read it in its entirety at http://www.cp80.org.
