Grapevine’s 'Summer Nights’ Offers Family Fun

Contributing Writer

Grapevine Summer Nights will kick off from 7 to 9 p.m. on Saturday, July 5, at the Gazebo on the 300 Block of Main Street during Grapevine’s Independence Day weekend events schedule, according to a Grapevine Convention & Visitors Bureau news release.

"That is a place where families can come and stroll down Main Street, do some shopping, enjoy some food, the sidewalk sales," said Lisa McCowan, spokeswoman for Grapevine Convention & Visitors Bureau. "And there’s going to be plenty of entertainment." On July 5, there will be a theme of "Picnic in the Park" and there will be food available from local Main Street restaurants, during Summer Nights, McCowan said.

"So folks will be able to try a variety of different options of some of the Grapevine restaurants here in town," she said.

The annual Summer Nights events are sponsored by the Historic Downtown Grapevine Association, according to a Grapevine Convention & Visitors Bureau release.

Following its July 4 weekend debut, Summer Nights will move to 7 to 9 p.m. on Fridays, starting on Friday, July 11, according to the release.

Summer Nights will occur every week through Aug. 1 and will include events such as gift basket drawings, according to the release.

There is no age limit to participate in Summer Nights, and it’s free to the public, McCowan said.

"So we invite all the families to come," McCowan said. "This is definitely a place for children and adults to get together and have a good time and enjoy the weekend holiday."
